Coronation Street viewers were left fearing for Eliza Woodrow after she took a phone call from a mystery older man during Friday’s episode.

Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) has had a tough time of late after she was taken in by Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) after her mother Bridget (Beth Vyse) was sent to prison for murder, the same killing Stu had done time for despite not being involved in the crime.

It emerged Bridget was the actual culprit and her mother Lucy Woodrow (Lynda Rooke) had helped cover her daughter’s tracks.

Eliza was left devastated when she recently learned her mother was being transferred to a prison in another part of the country, meaning she would see less of her.

In a bid to cheer Eliza up, Stu bought her a new tablet, unaware he could be putting her in danger, with Eliza using it to contact the older man.

Eliza told him he sounded different to how she imagined and Dom encouraged her to reiterate her promise to meet up with her in person soon.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: ‘Who in the whatsit what is Dom? And why is that little girl so eager to meet him? Would she have her dad saved in phone as Dom? That totally threw me.’

It comes after Coronation Street fans were ‘torn apart’ when Sarah Platt suffered a devastating miscarriage during Wednesday night’s episode.

Viewers of the ITV soap praised Tina O’Brien‘s ‘incredible’ acting in the heartbreaking scenes.

It’s been a dramatic week for Sarah after her lies were revealed during a shocking gender reveal party.

Her world was left in turmoil when instead of revealing the gender of the baby, the balloon revealed something very different, the truth that her former flame Damon was the father of her unborn child, not her husband Adam.

Just hours later, Sarah was rushed to hospital after suffering from stomach pains, where she was sadly informed that her baby had died.

‘Making tea, or doing the washing up and just waiting. Waiting for my baby to slip away.

‘I’m sorry, I can’t. I can’t do it. Please it’s just too much. I’m really sorry, you don’t understand.’

The nurse replied: ‘You lost a baby. I saw that in your notes. I’m so sorry Sarah.’

‘Tina O’Brien is incredible tonight,’ another added.

Speaking to The Mirror Tina recently revealed that she doesn’t think there is any going back for Sarah and her husband Adam.

‘I think she thought, he’s a solicitor. She’s usually the one that’s up and down. He can get very cross and angry but he’s generally kind of level headed. She wouldn’t have seen it coming from him.’

Tina thinks Sarah believes she will be able to talk him round, however the actress admitted ‘I think it’s the possibly final nail in the coffin in the department of trust.’

‘It’s clarified it for her, she wants her family and she wants her life back on track,’ explained Tina.
