Martha Kalifatidis is set to spend a couple of nights in Los Angeles with her family – despite previously calling the city ‘horrific’ and ‘unsafe’.

The Married At First Sight star, 35, posted a series of images to Instagram on Tuesday showing her arriving in the US city with fiancé Michael Brunelli and their 11-month-old son Lucius.

One picture showed Martha cradling Lucius at an airport taxi rank and another captured the family happily posing in an Uber.

She captioned one photo: ‘Change of plans. Staying a night, possibly two, in LA. This should be fun.’

The family were on their way to Reno in Nevada, but storms forced them to stay in the city Martha has previously criticised.

In 2021 the former reality TV star complained about the city’s ‘horrifying’ crime and homelessness crisis.

The brunette bombshell sparked debate after she uploaded an Instagram post detailing her nightmare experience in the City of Angels, after travelling to the US for a holiday with Michael.

Insisting she felt ‘unsafe’ the entire time, Martha warned other travellers to stay far away.

Martha was promptly slammed by followers who disagreed with her grim portrayal of the Californian city.

Martha hit back at these critics on Instagram Stories, writing: ‘So many people coming for me in the DMs. I’m not saying all of America is [trashcan emoji]. Only talking about my experience.’

‘The crime rate is up 300%! Every Uber driver told us to beware, don’t wear anything flashy because ppl have been getting robbed at gunpoint. Nowhere is safe,’ she warned, adding: ‘Even Beverly Hills is super dangerous and experiencing violent crimes daily.’

She also claimed LA has little to offer Australian travellers these days, and that it just isn’t worth enduring the city’s societal problems for the sake of a holiday.

Martha and Michael met and fell in love during the sixth season of MAFS in 2019 and they welcomed their first child Lucius in February last year.
