Police received a call about an armed 49-year-old man inside the CCC building on Saint Pauls Terrace in Fortitude Valley at around 4.20pm.
“At 5.45pm, the man was taken into custody by police who have subsequently located a small tomahawk in the man’s bag,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
He is currently assisting police with inquiries.
It is unclear what his motive was.
No one was injured during the incident.
