A man has been arrested over the death of a woman in her 20s in the New South Wales town of Forbes.
Police found the woman’s body in the early hours of this morning at a home on Young Street after being told of concerns for the woman’s welfare.
“Officers from Central West Police District attended and located the body of a woman inside,” police said.
“She is yet to be formally identified, however she is believed to be in her late 20s.”
The man was arrested in the nearby town of Fifield, a little under 100km north-west of Forbes.
“A crime scene was established, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death has commenced,” police said.
“A man was arrested at a property in Fifield and has been taken to Parkes Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries.”
The man has not been charged, and the police investigation is ongoing.
