Emergency services were called to the fast-food outlet car park on St Albans Road in St Albans about 6am after receiving reports of an injured man.
The yet-to-be-identified man was found with stab wounds and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with lower body injuries in a serious condition.
Police believe the man was involved in a dispute with another man before he sustained his life-threatening injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
