The upcoming crime thriller Johnny & Clyde is a reimagining of the classic story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Megan Fox, 36, – who recently reconciled with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly – stars in the film as crime boss and casino owner Alana Hart who vows to eliminate one or both of the love birds on their crime spree.
Avan Jogia, 31, plays Johnny to Ajani Russell’s, 24, Clyde. They are unhinged, madly in love and on a very violent crime spree.
After several lower-level successes they set their sights on the cash room of crime boss Alana’s casino.
Tom DeNucci directs the crime thriller/slasher pic which he co-wrote with Nick Principe.

When the trailer begins, the psychopathic lovers are in a red car preparing to rob an armored car.
They pull over and Clyde has her curvaceous backside bent over the engine of the car as if it has broken down.
When the armored car stops to help her and the guard get out, she turns around, grins wickedly and guns him down.
The trailer then cuts to Alana’s office where one of her minions is telling her about the armored car robbery.
She comments on how romantic it is that two ‘lunatics go on a cross country kill tour.’
The trailer then cuts to a few scenes of Johnny and Clyde torturing their victims while a voice over informs them of the casino’s cash room.
They outline the plan to break into the cash room but they forget who they are dealing with.
Alana vows to bring one or both of them down – violently if necessary.

Johnny and Clyde proclaim: ‘We get the money and then we live happily ever after.’
‘I think we’ll be fine,’ Alana says.
The rest of the trailer features blood, gore, violence and lots and lots of guns.
In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, DeNucci said, ‘Megan’s character is very dark. I don’t want to give away too much, but visually we wanted her to almost be like a Disney princess, but a messed up, very dark, twisted version of that.
‘Her look is just incredible … this kind of almost evil princess character. I went into a weird kind of Disney path. A lot of that vintage Disney stuff was kind of dark, you know?’

Co-writer Principe said the movie is ‘about two psychopaths that are utterly in love. They’ve gone on a kind of Natural Born Killers cross-country crime spree, and they’re kind of finding themselves out of money and out of places to go.’
He continued: ‘They end up back at their home town, trying to make a couple of robberies until they get wind of a very, very big score. The lead character Johnny calls on some of his childhood foster care friends, who are very grown up at this point and are equally entertaining psychopaths.’
‘They form a heist crew to take down this secretive cash room that’s run by Megan Fox’s character, where they are met with some supernatural surprises…,’ he concluded.
Johnny & Clyde premieres in theaters and on demand on May 5.
