A member of the public has discovered what is believed to be human remains in a popular walking area.

Queensland Police declared a crime scene at Glen Lomond Park in Middle Ridge, southeast Toowoomba, after the pedestrian came across suspected human bones about 3pm on Monday.

Glen Lomond Park is a large bushland area known for its scene walking trails.

Searches of the park, located in Queensland’s south-east, are underway.

It is currently unknown how long the bones were left.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
