A four-window is at the centre of an investigation into the execution-style shooting of a suspected high-ranking member of the Calabrian mafia in Melbourne earlier this week.
Police have confirmed the shooting was a targeted hit on Latorre, who has links to Italian organised crime.
Latorre’s body was found outside his home by a family member, after suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Police are yet to determine how many offenders were involved in the incident or how they left the area.
Detectives are now probing a four-hour gap between 2am and 6am, which they believe is critical to the investigation.
“From some of the footage we’ve obtained, it appears there was quite a bit of traffic already in the area on the morning of the shooting,” Detective Senior Sergeant Danny Travaglini said.
“We’d like to speak to anyone who was driving through the Greenvale or Gladstone Park areas between 2am and 6am on Tuesday morning and has dashcam footage.
“At this stage we’re looking to collect all footage from between those times, so if you do have any then we’d urge you to contact Crime Stoppers.”
Travaglini said any small detail could prove crucial in this investigation.
“We’re hoping this may lead to further avenues of enquiry in relation to our offenders and how they travelled to and from the victim’s house,” he said.
Police said earlier this week, they were preparing for revenge attacks as a result of Latorre’s death.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
