Strike force detectives last year began investigating a woman’s claims she had been allegedly groomed from the age of six by the founder of a religious group and his partner – who she was known to.
Officers last week stormed two addresses – the religious group’s headquarters at Bangalee on the NSW South Coast and a unit in the Sydney CBD.
They searched a home and two sheds in Bangalee, where several items relevant to investigations were seized.
Detectives have today arrested a 73-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman at Sydney CBD.
“The pair were taken to Day Street Police Station, where they are expected to be charged with child grooming offences,” police said.
“The man is also expected to be charged with failing to comply with his extended supervision order.
