A 45-year-old man and a 19-year-old have already been charged, with police still investigating up to 50 people over the riots.

The 28-year-old Horningsea Park man was taken to Fairfield Police Station and was refused bail to face court in Paramatta today.

The 45-year-old man was arrested at a home in Throsby Street, Fairfield Heights, at about 6.20pm on Friday.

He was also taken to Fairfield Police station on Friday evening, where he was charged with two offences, including riot and threatening violence, causing fear.

He has been refused to bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said investigators were looking for up to 50 people over the riots, which saw dozens of police cars damaged and five police hospitalised.

One suffered injuries to their face, while another injured their knee, after items like bricks and metal objects were thrown at them.

Webb made it clear that rioters were not related to the church’s parish, and showed up “as an excuse” to cause problems for police.

Dani Mansour, 19, was also charged in relation to the riot on Thursday April 18.
