Police are searching for two men after several instant hot water systems were stolen from a Bunnings store in Melbourne’s north last month.

Investigators believe the men used a stolen Ford Falcon sedan to drive into the business on Dalton Road in Thomastown about 4.50pm on February 25.

The men loaded three instant hot water systems into the sedan, before attempting to drive off, police said.

Police believe this man may be able to assist police with their enquiries. (Victoria Police)

Staff noticed the theft and began lowering the roller doors to block the exit.

Several shoppers were narrowly missed after the driver accelerated at a “fast rate of speed”, crashing through the roller door.

It’s believed the vehicle used was stolen from a property in St Albans earlier that day.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
