Third man now charged in brutal execution-style death of gangster’s nephew outside his home

Organised crime detectives have charged a third man over the execution-style shooting death of 23-year-old Rami Iskander in Sydney‘s southwest.
Police say Jamal Salameh, 29, was involved in supplying the cars used in the gangland hit last year.
Mr Iskander, the nephew of murdered underworld heavyweight Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad, was gunned down on the driveway of his Belmore home in the early hours of May 14 and died at the scene.
It is understood two gunmen shot Mr Iskander dead, before two burnt-out vehicles were found in the nearby suburbs of Croydon Park and Bexley North.
Two days later police launched Taskforce Erebus to investigate a spate of deadly shootings and criminal activities by organised crime networks across Sydney.

Erebus detectives arrested Salameh at Marrickville Police Station about 6.40am on Tuesday, over Mr Iskander’s death.
He was later charged with being an accessory before the fact to murder, participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity and using a false document to obtain property.
Salameh is already facing charges over his alleged involvement in supplying vehicles in the shooting death of Mr Iskander’s uncle, Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad, which occurred two weeks prior.
He was later taken to Campsie Police Station while detectives executed search warrants at homes in Canterbury, Roselands, and Kingsgrove.
Police seized cash, mobile phones, ammunition and a luxury watch at those properties.
Salameh was refused bail and appeared at Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.

It comes after a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged over Mr Iskander’s death last December.
The man was cuffed in Sydney’s CBD and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and concealing a serious indictable offence.
Police alleged in court that he provided direct assistance to persons involved in the incident following the murder.
A 42-year-old man was the first man charged over the shooting in October.
Both men remain before the courts.

Mr Iskander’s uncle, Ahmad, also known as Sydney’s ‘Mr Big’, was shot dead on a suburban street in Greenacre, in the city’s south-west, on April 27.
Ahmad was leaving a friend’s house when he was riddled with bullets.
Raptor Squad police patrolling nearby performed CPR with vision of the harrowing scene showing ‘Mr Big’ fighting for his life, but they were unable to revive him.
Four men have been charged over their alleged involvement in the murder and remain before the courts.
