President Biden announced he will run for a second term on Tuesday as his family is shrouded in politically damaging investigations.
Scandal-clad Hunter Biden continues to drag down the family name with a Department of Justice investigation and now the Oversight Committee says Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) ensnare as many as 12 Biden family members in Hunter’s influence peddling.
Biden himself, however, has not been charged with a crime – unlike Republican candidate Donald Trump, who himself is mired in legal woes.
Here are the ongoing investigations into Biden and his family that the president could have to answer for as he takes to the campaign trail:

While most names have not yet been revealed, Comer previously said that suspicious activity reports (SARs) reviewed by Republicans on the panel have found that President Biden’s brother Jim Biden and his son Beau’s widow Hallie Biden benefited from foreign business deals.
Oversight members have been combing through SARs following a subpoena of the Treasury Department to look into business dealings of the president and his family members – mainly his son Hunter Biden.
‘There are six specific decisions that Joe Biden made either as vice president or president that are very concerning to us,’ Comer told Fox News.
He said these decisions and moves are likely related to payments made to LLCs from legitimate businesses as a way to launder money to Biden’s family members.
‘I found legitimate businesses that were paying the LLCs that were then turning around and laundering the money back to the Bidens,’ Comer detailed. ‘But I haven’t found any legitimate business dealings on the Biden end.’
‘It looks like, if there wasn’t legitimate business dealing in any of these LLCs, it was influence peddling. And if you want to get technical, and if you want to get to a legal term, that’s called being a foreign agent. They weren’t registered as a foreign agent.’
‘This is bad. There are more laws that appear to me that have been broken than just tax evasion. And there are a lot more Bidens involved than just the president’s son and his brother.’

DOJ investigating classified documents found at Biden’s think tank office and personal residence
Special Counsel Robert Hur has been investigating the classified documents found to be misplaced in Biden’s care for the Department of Justice after Jack Smith was appointed to handle the case of Donald Trump’s classified documents.
Federal law requires all presidential records – and especially those with classified markings – to be turned over to the National Archives at the end of a presidential administration.
Both Trump and Biden are facing federal probes for having classified documents in their private homes.
Pence also found some classified documents at his Indiana home in February. He immediately notified authorities and allowed federal agents to search his home.
Hunter Biden lawyers set to meet with Justice Department
Hunter Biden’s legal team is set to meet this week with US attorney David Weiss to discuss the investigation into the president’s son.
Hunter Biden legal team had reached out to Justice officials, CNN reported, asking for an update on the case. That lead to the scheduling of next week’s meeting.
Weiss, the US Attorney in Delaware who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, is overseeing the investigation into Hunter Biden.
It comes as federal prosecutors are weighing four charges against the presidential son, three related to tax crimes and a felony charge related to a gun purchase.
The possible charges are two misdemeanor counts for failure to file taxes, a single felony count of tax evasion related to a business expense for one year of taxes, and the gun charge, also a potential felony, NBC News reported, citing sources.
When purchasing a .38 caliber gun in 2018, Hunter wrote on the Firearm Transaction Record that he did not use unlawful drugs, but admitted in his memoir that he was a crack addict at the time. Intentionally providing misleading information while making a gun purchase is a felony.
Additionally, two senior law enforcement sources told the network there is ‘growing frustration’ inside the FBI because the bulk of the investigative work was finished last year while the IRS finished its tax investigation more than a year ago.
There is no indication as to when charges may come. Hunter Biden has denied any wrongdoing.

On Nov. 2nd, Biden’s personal attorney discovered approximately 10 documents with classified markings on Nov. 2 at the Penn Biden Center, his private think tank run by the University of Pennsylvania.
The material dated back to the Obama administration. The National Archives and Justice Department were informed of the discovery.
But the crisis did not come to public attention until January after CBS News reported their existence, earning criticism for the Biden administration, which has promised transparency.
Days later more classified documents were discovered at Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, residence. Additional searches found more classified records – about two dozen total.
