Three sex beasts who took it in turns to rape a woman in a town centre have been jailed for more than 22 years.

Miguel Clino and Devon Cato, both 20, and Nizandro Caimanque, 21, approached their victim as she was walking through Barking in east London early in the morning on Sunday, July 10, last year.

The trio then forced her down an alleyway before carrying out a ‘horrendous and sickening’ attack on her at around 6am.

Each of the men took turns raping the woman, with a horrified security guard contacting police after seeing it play out on CCTV from a nearby property.

The men were all arrested nearby, and their victim, who had no recollection of the attack, bravely helped put them behind bars with the support of specially trained officers from the Metropolitan Police.

A jury found all three guilty of rape after a two-week trial in January and the defendants returned to Snaresbrook Crown Court today where they were jailed for a total of more than 22 years.

Clino, of Norfolk Road, Barking, was jailed for eight years, Cato, of Boundary Road, East Ham, was imprisoned for seven years and Caimanque of Central Park Road, East Ham, was put behind bars for seven-and-a-half years.

Detective Sergeant Harry Nunez from the Met’s East Area Serious Sexual Offences Team said: ‘This was an atrocious attack on a young woman who was targeted and subjected to sustained, serious sexual violence.

‘I would like to recognise the victim’s bravery who has supported this investigation throughout.

‘The actions taken early on in the investigation by police to secure key evidence such as forensics and CCTV were also key in building a conclusive case against the evil men responsible for this horrendous and sickening crime.’

Detective Constable Ben Wallen, who led the investigation said: ‘The result of this case would not have been possible without the incredible efforts made by officers attending the scene and assistance from my colleagues in the Serious Sexual Offences team.

‘I hope this result will reassure anyone who has been a victim of sexual violence that the police will fully support you and work hard to ensure those responsible will be caught and put before the courts.’
