Three teenagers have been charged after they allegedly stole a Melbourne woman’s car while armed with a machete.

The woman was in her car when she was allegedly approached by the three teenagers at Williams Landing around 3pm on Thursday.

Police allege the teenagers threatened the woman, forced her to leave the car and drove away in it.

In an interview with 3AW, the woman alleged one of the teenagers threatened to kill her

The woman was not physically injured and reported the incident to police.

The three teenagers were arrested in Taylors Lake several hours later.

The woman’s Lexus SUV was returned to her.

Several of the woman’s neighbours told 9News they were horrified over the incident.

Two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old were charged with aggravated carjacking.

All three will appear in children’s court at a later date.
