A woman has suffered lacerations after a group of men armed with a machete allegedly stormed her home in Adelaide’s north-east this morning.

Police allege the 23-year-old victim received a knock at her door from a man known to her at her Orlando Avenue home in Hampstead Gardens about 3.50am.

He allegedly requested money, which she declined and the man subsequently left.

A short time later a group of allegedly armed men forced their way into her home, again demanding cash.

During the invasion, the woman suffered a cut to her arm by a man allegedly wielding a machete who then fled.

Police arrived and searched the area, quickly locating a 21-year-old man from Christies Beach.

He was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and assault causing harm.

Police said a decision on bail was yet to be made.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
