A woman has become the second person to be charged with the alleged murder of 38-year-old mother Krystal Marshall, whose body was found after a house fire in South Australia.

Firefighters rushed to a home on Barracoota Crescent in Aldinga Beach about 3.30pm on October 20 after a neighbour reported seeing smoke coming from the roof.

Marshall’s body was discovered dead in a bedroom once the flames were extinguished.

Police Detective Superintendent Des Bray today confirmed a 29-year-old woman had since been charged, with murder, arson and interfering with human remains at Para Hills West.

“The allegation will be that together those two people, and those two people alone, are responsible for the death of Krystal,” he said at a press conference.

The woman has been charged at Adelaide’s Watch House and refused bail to appear at Adelaide’s Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Bray said the victim and the two accused were all known to each other.

He said Marshall was most likely killed on October 19 with the house set on fire the next day.

He said police wanted to speak to three people who they believe could assist the investigation into the fire and Marshall’s death.

The first was a person who made an anonymous police report online and had knowledge of the alleged murder and who may be responsible.

“We had 15 or 16 Crime Stoppers reports but that was the only report that detailed specific and intimate knowledge of the crime,” Bray said.

The second was the driver of a blue Holden Astra who had stopped opposite 22 Barracoota Crescent a day before the fire.

A person emerged from the premises to talk to the driver before leaving.

The third was a driver of white delivery van who stopped outside Marshall’s home at the same time smoke was emerging and watched on for some time before leaving.

“All three of those people are important to the investigation, especially that person who had intimate knowledge,” Bray said.

“We’d encourage those people to make contact today … ask to speak to our detectives, you can remain confidential if you want to.”
