Alex Murdaugh arrives to court in South Carolina for second day of jury selection

Disgraced legal scion Alex Murdaugh was seen smiling as he arrived in court Tuesday for the second day of jury selection.

Video posted online showed the once-powerful South Carolina attorney being escorted out of a black police van in front of a courthouse.

The slimmed-down 54-year-old was handcuffed as he was led into the building for the second day of jury selection in his weeks-long murder trial.

Murdaugh is accused of killing his wife, Maggie, 52, and son, Paul Murdaugh, 22, ‘execution style’ in June 2021.

Prosecutors say Murdaugh lured his wife and son to their 1,700-acre hunting lodge and shot them dead.

The court also claims that his life was spiraling out of control amid years of opioid addiction and ballooning debts.

Murdaugh pleaded not guilty in June, and the blockbuster trial is expected to have wild allegations of dark family secrets, financial ruin and hedonistic excess.

Several of his surviving family members are expected to testify against him in the upcoming trial – including his surviving son Buster, brothers and his wife’s family. 

But before the real-life legal drama can unfold live in court, lawyers say jury selection will take several days.

The 12-member jury will hear all of the evidence presented against the once-prominent lawyer, after authorities took over a year investigating the mysterious deaths to charge Murdaugh in connection with the crimes.

Murdaugh was led into the courtroom in handcuffs hidden under his jacket Tuesday
