Commentator Andrew Bolt says he feels ‘cheated’ because Brittany Higgins was handed up to $3million of taxpayer funds based claims that her political career was in ruins after publicly alleging she was raped in Parliament House.

However, Ms Higgins has recently completed an internship at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, the political commentator pointed out on his Sky News program, The Bolt Report last night.

‘Honoured to have interned at this year’s United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in Geneva,’ Ms Higgins wrote on Instagram, below a selfie outside the UN in her mother’s Gucci heels.

Bolt said he was ‘amazed’ by the post because it was only about seven months ago that Anthony Albanese‘s government gave Ms Higgins a hefty compensation payout because ‘she claimed in court documents that she couldn’t work at all’ in politics.

‘Yet she is now posing for pictures outside the UN building in Geneva and saying she’s got a new job. Of course, it’s an internship, I get that.

‘But I still find this very odd,’ he said. ‘In fact, I feel cheated.’

It can also be revealed Ms Higgins’ fiancé David Sharaz uploaded a photo this week of their most recent ski trip, marking her fourth getaway since she won her compensation claim.

Ms Higgins lodged a civil suit in December against the Commonwealth and her former employers, Senators Linda Reynolds and Michaelia Cash, based on claims she was not supported amid her initial sexual assault allegations in 2019.

The suit was filed the day after the criminal trial against her alleged rapist Bruce Lehrmann crumbled, and the settlement was reached after just one day of mediation.

Mr Lehrmann has continually denied the allegations against him.

Ms Higgins’ claim was for 40 years of lost wages, but Bolt pointed out on Monday that she has had three jobs since she first went public with her allegations on national television in 2021.

‘How could Higgins, who was too damaged to work, be working at the UN? Just a year later, when I thought she might actually never work again,’ he said.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Ms Higgins was a media advisor for the first People’s Assembly of Victoria, she then landed a position as visiting fellow with former Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.

She worked part-time for the Queensland Human Rights Commission.

Ms Higgins is also studying a Doctor of Law with Bond University and, Bolt said, she has a Bachelor of Business ‘which is usually reserved for people with business ambitions’.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Higgins for comment.

Ms Higgins and her fiancé Mr Sharaz live on Queensland’s Gold Coast, but they have enjoyed at least four trips she was handed up to $3million of taxpayer funds – two of which were international.

Earlier on Monday, Mr Sharaz uploaded an Instagram story of him at the snow – apparently taken by Ms Higgins, who was tagged in the photo.

‘The face of fear pre-ski,’ he wrote.

Last week, the pair were pictured at an upper-class restaurant in Melbourne to celebrate her lawyer Leon Zwier’s birthday.

Prior to that, the couple returned from a European getaway, during which interned at the UN in Geneva.

In January, the pair enjoyed a lavish trip to the Maldives, in the Indian Ocean, as a belated Christmas present to Mr Sharaz – a fortnight after he surprised her with a romantic New Year’s Eve proposal at sunset.
