BREAKING NEWS: Armed suspect ‘holding multiple hostages’ inside Wells Fargo branch in Arlington, Virginia

  • An unidentified suspect entered the Wells Fargo, implied he had a weapon and barricaded himself inside the bank
  • Police say the man robbed the bank shortly after 3pm
  • A hostage negotiator has now been brought in 

Just one day after an armed gunman opened fire at a bank in Kentucky, another armed suspect is holding multiple people hostage at a bank in Virginia.

The Wells Fargo on Washington Boulevard in Arlington was robbed shortly after 3pm, authorities say, and the suspect — a man in his 20s — is still be inside the bank, police announced Tuesday afternoon.

The unidentified suspect apparently entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. He is now barricaded inside the bank with patrons and employees. 

Police have surrounded the bank and shut down traffic in the area. A hostage negotiator has also been brought in.
