A British Army recruit who described himself as ‘far right never far wrong’ is facing jail after having instructions on how to make bombs on his phone.

The 25-year-old was convicted on two counts of possessing information likely to be useful for terrorism, but cleared of a third by an Old Bailey jury today after four hours of deliberation.

The man, who can only be referred to as S Forster, began army training in 2017 but was found unsuitable because he had engaged in extreme right wing rhetoric on Twitter.

In 2015 Forster tweeted that former Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn should be hanged as traitors, the court heard.

Three years later he messaged his girlfriend saying: ‘I’m far right never far wrong. I can make a fascist out of you yet’ and ‘I don’t like to brag but I am the master race after all’.

He also told his girlfriend: ‘You’re a woman you don’t need to work, please don’t be a feminist, don’t hit me or if you do at least hit the side of my face’ and ‘Knowing blacks commit more crime or Jews run the media is easy.’

Forster joined the British neo-Nazi terrorist group National Action when he was 13 and was referred to Prevent as a schoolboy.

Three documents were found downloaded onto mobile phones found in his flat in Norwich, where he was arrested on 6 April 2022.

S Forster denied three counts of possessing information likely to be useful for terrorism, admitted a third like charge and was cleared of a fourth.

The Norwich man denied possessing ‘Middle Eastern Terrorist- bomb designs,’ which he saved as ‘b0mb’, and contained diagrams and instructions for the construction of improvised explosive devices.

He also denied having a document on his phone called ‘The advanced Anarchist Arsenal: Recipes for improvised incendiaries and explosives’ which included recipes for explosive substances such as ammonium nitrate, made up of TNT, charcoal and fuel oil.

Forster told the court he was not aware the material was on his phone and it must have downloaded automatically from messaging platforms.

However, he admitted one count of a charge, relating to instructions on how to make a DIY gun from a piece of scrap metal.

This referred to a hard copy book named ‘US Army Improvised munitions’.

Prosecutor Ben Lloyd told the court stickers for the right wing party the National Front were also found at his home, along with images of him posing with a Nazi salute.

His walls were said to have been adorned with an image of Adolf Hitler, a National Front poster, and a sticker for right-wing punk band Skrewdriver.

A set of antique knives and imitation pistols were also found at his home.

Forster told the Old Bailey he had held neo-Nazi views as a teenager but no longer did at the time he was accused of the offences.

He claimed he did not mind being photographed with people doing a Nazi salute because he does not judge people for their politics.

Forster also added that he wanted to express ‘the most opposite opinion’ when doing a Nazi salute in front of a Black Lives Matter poster in May 2020.

Asked why, he replied: ‘I didn’t agree with the protests going on in this country about protests going on in another country.

‘I didn’t see why in a rural place like Norfolk that had relevance. And assaults started happening due to the protests and people making a big thing of it.

‘I found it worrying how something from the other side of the word ended up here.

‘Police brutality is awful, no one should have to suffer that.

‘But stickers were going round which said White Lives Matter, I think I had one on my desk, and people said those were racist stickers.’

In a message found on one of his social media platforms, he said: ‘If you’re white you’re meant to be the best, that means look the best, talk the best, be the best.

‘You can’t be NS if you’re not prepared to do the work.’

Mr Lloyd said NS was likely a reference to National Socialist, the Nazi party.

Another message said: ‘We’re in a Golden period, it’s either us or the jews who win’ and ‘double down, kick racism back into football.’

The court heard that one of his social media passwords was ‘Hitlerwasright1488’.

Mr Lloyd said ’14’ and ’88’ were both fascist references, 14 referring to an American 14 word white nationalist slogan, and ’88’ used to mean ‘heil Hitler’.

A PDF document entitled ‘ethnic cleansing operations’ was also found on Forster’s phone.

Forster, of Cardiff Road, Norwich, also posted that Ian Stuart, frontman of Skrewdriver who died in a car crash in 1993, was his ‘hero’.

He also claimed symbols on his jewellery were not racist symbols but ancient pagan symbols that had been used by the far-right but were ‘older than Christ’.

Forster accepted in police interview that he had been involved with far right groups such as the English Defence League and National Action which led to him being referred to Prevent.

He denied but was convicted of two counts of collecting information contrary to section 58 of the terrorism act. He admitted a third like charge but was cleared of a fourth.

Previously it was also noted that Foster was a member of numerous chat groups and individual conversations in which he actively engaged in conversations with underaged girls.

Prosecutor Ms Polly Dyer said before that when Forster was arrested he was found with a very large number of weapons including knives and gas-powered air pistols in his home.

However, when arrested again the police did not find all the previously seen weapons.

She said: ‘There is a concern that Mr Forster would have access to these weapons. Mr Forster holds extreme views and has a fascination with knives.’

Forster will be sentenced on a date to be fixed.
