Balmain stabbing: Man fights for life after attack in Sydney’s inner-west

A 30-year-old man is fighting for life after being stabbed multiple times in his torso after a spat with two men in Sydney‘s inner west.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Donnelly Street in Balmain on Saturday at around 3.40pm following reports of an assault.
The victim was rushed to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Audio from an ambulance call to the hospital revealed the man was suffering a ‘low-flow arrest’ after receiving multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and chest area.

An officer was heard saying the man was responding well to ‘compressions’ while reporting on his vital signs.
Photos from the scene show the shirtless victim lying on a stretcher with one of his arms stained with blood.

A car was found 6km away on fire in Preston Avenue in Five Dock a short time after the stabbing.
Authorities are investigating if the two incidents are linked and have established a crime scene which will be will be forensically examined.
