BBC presenter Emma Louise Jones is ‘harassed’ by man who stopped her on a dog walk and ‘repeatedly asked to take pictures of her’
- The football presenter, 33, said the experience left her feeling ‘uncomfortable’
- Emma has worked for the BBC since 2021 and began her career at Leeds TV
BBC presenter Emma Louise Jones says she has been repeatedly ‘harassed’ by a man who has stopped her in the street and asked to take photos of her while walking her puppy.
The football pundit, 33, who can be seen on the BBC’s MOTDx, spoke out about the ‘uncomfortable’ experience on Twitter this week.
She added that some of the man’s requests were too vile to post online but that she hoped sharing her story would raise awareness for an issue commonly faced by women.
Emma told her almost 350,000 Twitter followers on Tuesday: ‘I’ve taken my puppy on the same walk near my house the last few days & the same man has repeatedly stopped me to tell me he wants to take photos of me (along with other stuff that I won’t mention here).
‘This makes women/girls feel uncomfortable & I would urge anyone who sees what looks like an uncomfortable interaction to not just ignore it and walk past.

‘You don’t always have to intervene, but even just having the presence of someone else nearby can be reassuring.’
Emma, who is a Leeds FC fan, began her career with Leeds TV in 2017, and since has worked on BBC Radio 5 Live, the Netball Nation Podcast and worked with the BBC at the 2018 World Cup.
Her recent experience is not the first time she has been targeted.
In January the pundit found out that she was being impersonated on an X-rated dating site and that her pictures were being used on someone else’s profile.
She took to Instagram to shut down any speculation that she was on the dating site Uberfl***y.
Emma said on her stories: ‘I am also on Uberf***y’, adding two crying emojis to share her feelings on the matter.
Emma added: ‘What is an uberf***y? I don’t want to Google it.’
Her Instagram profile gives an insight into her glamorous life as a football presenter, including working at live sports events and reporting from the pundit’s chair.
She often shuts down vile trolls who attack her on social media.
In March, when asked an inappropriate X-rated question on Twitter, she responded: ‘Alexa, what does a virgin look like?’
