A sadistic and evil mother who instructed her husband to kill her ex-lover has been found guilty of murder as her fake alibi text messages are revealed.

Biannca Edmunds, 36, was unanimously convicted by a 12-person jury of the murder of her ex-boyfriend Michael Caposiena in Victoria’s Supreme Court on Saturday.

The jury found Edmunds had ordered her new husband Glen Cassidy to kill her former partner in March 2016 and faked text messages to give herself an alibi.

Edmunds had denied all involvement in the killing and insisted Cassidy acted alone.

She sent several text messages from Cassidy’s phone to herself to create a fake alibi, writing: ‘I’m about to do something you would consider absolutely f***ing stupid’ and ‘If I get caught I want them to know you had nothing at all to do with this’.

To these she replied from her own phone: ‘Don’t be so bloody stupid’.

It was the second trial Edmunds has faced this year after the first jury failed to reach a verdict in June.

The retrial heard Edmunds shared a son with Caposiena but that she longed to spend more time with him after being absent for the first two years of his life.

Prosecutor Neill Hutton said Edmunds manipulated her husband to commit the murder and concocted a plan to catch Mr Caposiena unaware at his unit.

Mr Hutton said Edmunds would use promises of ‘kinky sex’ to control her husband, who was 20 years her senior.

‘There’s evidence that she said to people while she was having sex with Mr Cassidy, she would not let him orgasm until he promised to kill Michael,’ he said.

Witnesses at the second trial included Ellen Edmunds, Biannca's mother, who told the court her daughter stated on numerous occasions she wanted Mr Caposiena out of her and her son's life (pictured Biannca Edmunds awaits to be interviewed by police for the first time in 2016)

The couple went as far as drawing a map of the surrounding area to note where security cameras, street lights and barking dogs were.

The court also heard a series of phone calls recorded by Cassidy in the lead-up to the hit where the couple appear to talk in code.

‘I am completely over this job,’ Cassidy is heard saying during one call.

‘Well, just finish it,’ Edmunds replied.

‘I’m trying,’ Cassidy said.

‘Finish this job and move on. Let the future be better,’ Edmunds told Cassidy.

‘We need less stress in our lives and I’m not looking forward having to go to Legal Aid … I’m sick of it.’

Police claimed Cassidy would beg his wife of only two weeks for sex and was made to believe it would only happen once the hit was complete.

‘Can we have sex tomorrow night,’ Cassidy asked her on March 3, 2016.

‘I don’t know. That depends on if we’re celebrating or not,’ Edmunds responded.

On March 12, 2016, Cassidy ambushed Caposiena at his Westmeadows home, in Melbourne’s northwest, as he answered the door.

However, Caposiena was alerted by his partner to the intruder outside his door and managed to stab Cassidy with a knife before he was fatally shot in the head.

Cassidy ended up bleeding to death at the scene of the botched assassination.

The court heard Edmunds was in Shepparton on the day her ex-lover was killed and was disappointed her husband hadn’t executed the hit while she was in Darwin.

Witnesses at the second trial included Ellen Edmunds, Biannca’s mother, who told the court her daughter had said on numerous occasions she wanted Mr Caposiena out of her and her son’s life.

Paul Bonner, a friend of Cassidy’s also gave a testimony about how she called her husband ‘spineless’, ‘p***-weak’ and a ‘coward’ as well as telling him: ‘If you were a real man, you’d take care of it’.

Justice Lex Lasry will sentence Edmunds at a later date.
