Boy, 17, fights for his life after stabbing at large gathering in grounds of £1.5million farmhouse – as teenager, 16, is arrested

A teenager is fighting for his life this morning after he was stabbed in the grounds of a £1.5m house in rural Sussex.
The 17-year-old was stabbed in the chest in the early hours of Sunday morning. His condition is described as critical.
Another boy, aged 16, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Emergency services were scrambled to an event at the house in Warnham near Horsham where a large number of young people were gathered.
Police are appealing for other teens who were at an event in the grounds of the house to come forward with any information.
Detectives are also speaking to parents and local schools following the stabbing.

Chief Superintendent Jo Banks said: ‘We are urging witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
‘We understand that there were many young people in attendance at this address at the time who will know important information to help the investigation.
‘In particular we would also ask parents and carers of those who attended to speak with their children and to contact us with information.
‘This is a fast-moving and complex investigation.
‘Officers will be working in partnership with local schools and there will also be an increased police presence in the area in order to provide reassurance.
‘We believe this was an isolated incident that does not pose a wider threat to the community.’
