Chaotic fight breaks out at jewelry exchange in NYC’s Diamond District as one brawler loses his PANTS and another whips his top off to join the action

This is the moment a chaotic brawl erupted inside a jewelry exchange in New York City as a man’s pants fell to the ground and a woman was struck.

Footage of the incident showed a number of fighters ended up topless and one man’s loose trousers dropped to his ankles in the midst of the melee.

The fracas happened at ‘The World’s Largest Jewelry Exchange’ at 55 West 47th Street in the Diamond District in Midtown Manhattan after midday on July 31.

Though it was mostly among men, one woman appeared to have been hit during the fight, which was recorded by bystanders from multiple angles.

One witness was famous jeweler Richard ‘Richie Rich’ Nektalov, owner of Leon Diamonds, who shared some of the footage of online and described it as ‘super wild’.

‘Some excitement for the Diamond District, it’s not an everyday thing you see,’ he told The New York Post.

Though the NYPD eventually arrived to break up the fight, Rich suggested he didn’t believe any arrests were made.

Another witness, named only as Aaron and Jewels of NYC which is located in the exchange, described the brawl in an interview with The Post.

He said it wasn’t clear what caused the fight but that all participants seemed to know each other and conflict had been brewing and he heard ‘screaming out of nowhere’.

Though the NYPD eventually arrived to break up the fight, a witnesses who recorded the incident suggested he didn’t believe any arrests were made

‘We look up and we see a bunch of people just going at it,’ he said. Aaron also described the moment one of the men’s trousers fell down. 

‘I guess what happened was his pants were a little loose on him, I guess when he got pushed his pants came down,’ he said. ‘I feel bad now that I think about it, but it was funny while we saw it.’

Rich’s store Leon Diamonds is across the street from the exchange, but he said he had family working at booths inside.
