Horror footage has emerged of a man plunging from an iconic beachside venue after attempting to gain re-entry by climbing in.

A NSW Police spokesman said the man, 20, was denied entry to the Coogee Pavilion, in Sydney‘s eastern suburbs, on Saturday evening.

He then attempted to climb into the Pavilion when he fell at around 7pm.

Video footage shows the moment he falls three metres from the climb and hits the ground.

A police officer is seen rushing to his aid in the video.

‘Officers … who were present for an unrelated matter rendered assistance before he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics,’ a NSW Police spokesman said.

‘(He sustained) a minor injury to his elbow and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital as a precaution.’

Bystanders reported seeing the man scaling a power pole several shops down from the venue.

He then climbed across multiple awnings on Dolphin Street in the direction of the Pavilion.

Others reportedly witnessed police communicate for the man to come down before he fell from another building.

While police did not confirm whether the man was under the influence of alcohol or any other substances at the time of the incident, a spokesman said it was ‘important to note that he had been refused entry to the premises’.

Merrivale, the owner of Coogee Pavilion, declined to comment.

The footage comes less than a week after a security guard at the venue was filmed pushing a woman and a boy, 13, onto the ground outside the same venue in an unrelated event.

The woman repeatedly screamed the boy was ‘intellectually disabled’ in the footage.

A NSW Police spokesman said the security team had reported ‘malicious damage and assault of a security guard’.

‘On arrival, officers were told a young person had forced entry to the venue, before allegedly smashing a glass door and getting into an altercation with a security guard,’ the spokesman said.
