A massive fire has broken out at a unit complex with some residents trapped in the building and unable to escape the blaze.

Six firetrucks and around 30 firefighters have been dispatched to tackle the blaze one Young Street at Croydon, in Sydney’s inner west. 

Several residents have reportedly become trapped on the third floor of the complex.
