Failed NY gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon owes more than $2,000 in fines to the city of New York, despite earning $1 million an episode for the Sex and the City reboot.
According to the New York Post, Nixon racked up the extravagant debt after purchasing her $4.4 million Kips Bay residence for false fire alarms set off in the building.
As construction started at the East 32nd street townhouse, fire alarms deafened neighbors in September and October 2021, despite no threat.
The Fire Department of New York slapped the 57-year-old with a thousand dollar fine for ‘failure to prevent unnecessary and/or unwarranted alarm(s).’
Just months after the incident, another alarm blared during construction resulting in a $935 fine in January 2022. Nixon’s alleged fine-dodging came two years after the famously-woke actress said she supported shoplifters who target drug stores.

Its claimed that Nixon is yet to pay off these debts despite earning a whopping one million dollars per episode of the SATC reboot, ‘And Just Like That.’
A representative for Nixon told the outlet that the fines had been contested and paid, but no proof had been provided.
DailyMail.com has also contacted Nixon’s representation for comment but did not immediately hear back.
City records obtained by the New York Post still list the fines as outstanding.
‘Cynthia Nixon has been exposed for not complying with the very laws she claimed to abide by during her run for governor,’ Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Queens), who chairs the fire and emergency management committee, said.
‘These fines were levied because she negligently wasted taxpayer resources on multiple unnecessary alarm calls.
‘And now this multimillionaire can’t be bothered to pay her two thousand dollar debt to the city? Miranda would never do that,’ she added referring to Nixon’s SATC character.

Back in 2018, Nixon challenged Andrew Cuomo for Governor of New York but lost in the Democratic primary.
Speaking of her failed run a veteran FDNY member said: ‘It’s absolutely infuriating.’
‘This is a candidate for governor who ordered cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, red onion, and capers on a cinnamon raisin bagel.
‘If you don’t know the rules of how to eat lox on a bagel, you can’t be trusted.’
Nixon’s neighbors were equally annoyed by the star who they claim appears to think she’s above the law.
‘Alarms going off… and she isn’t paying the fines?’ Paul Gray, 60, who lives on the block said to the outlet.
‘If she can get away with it, so should everybody else.’
Nixon also allegedly has outstanding fines with the Sanitation Department.
In June 2022 she was fined $50 for a garbage bag outside her building on a non-collection day.
And in March, another $50, for failing to clean litter within the 18-inch curb line of her home. Its been claimed she hasn’t paid either of these according to the post.

At the age of 52, Nixon ran against Cuomo but lost. A few years later he resigned from his position following a report that he had sexually harassed 11 women.
Nixon had been highly critical of Cuomo during her bid, going as far as to call him a liar.
Cuomo was also stripped of his honorary Emmy after his resignation which Nixon took particular delight in – tweeting after his downfall: ‘The difference between me and Andrew Cuomo? Neither of us is governor, but I still have my Emmy(s).’
