A shameless female looter has been arrested after she and her accomplice allegedly tried to break into luxury homes that had been evacuated during a landslide.

The two unnamed women were attempting to loot from homes affected by the devastating landslide in Rolling Hills Estates, officials said.

Officers in Los Angeles were establishing a perimeter when the suspects tried to run into the landslide area.

With the help of drone footage, officers were able to locate the suspects and took them into police custody.

Devastating damage was made to a handful of million dollar homes by the landslide over the weekend – and at least 16 people living in the neighborhood were displaced Saturday when the ground beneath their homes began to shift.

It is unclear exactly what caused the landslide, but residents of Peachtree Lane – where the bulk of the damage was done where an average home costs north of $1.2million – have been left without options and without many of their prized earthly possessions.

A local state of emergency was declared by the city over the issue earlier this week.

Drone footage shows a number of terra cotta roofs in the posh neighborhood caved in, and though some houses on the line remain unimpacted for the moment, authorities are keeping residents at a distance as they continue to evaluate.

On Saturday, residents had 20 minutes to gather their valuables and get out. They have not since had access to their properties.

Annoucing the arrests, the LASD wrote on social media: ‘This morning deputies were providing security to the homes affected by the landslide in Rolling Hills Estates when they were alerted to two suspects attempting to burglarize the evacuated homes.

‘Deputies quickly established a containment around the area as the suspects attempted to flee into the landslide area. Our partners responded to assist us with their drone operators.

‘Together with the Birds Eye view provided by their drone, and through the containment, our deputies were able to take both suspects into custody.

‘We are grateful for the assistance our partners provided, as well as pleased we were able to apprehend these suspects.

‘We are also appalled that there are people who see another person’s misfortune as an opportunity for them to benefit.’
