Disastrous moment rare Ferrari slams into a 4WD on the other side of the road and launches it into the air

A rare purpose-built racing Ferrari worth $600,000 has smashed into oncoming cars after the driver lost control at high speed and veered onto the wrong side of the road.

The spectacular crash happened in the inner Melbourne suburb of South Yarra along the busy Punt Road, which was full of traffic at 4.30pm on Sunday after an AFL match at the MCG.

Dashcam footage shows the red Ferrari 360 Challenge racing along the road when it wildly veers across the diving the lane and smashes a Nissan Navara head-on, launching it into the air.

The 4WD utility lands on a Subaru Impreza, where it remained balanced with front its wheels lifted off the ground.

Incredibly no one was seriously hurt.

Eric Moller, who was driving ahead of the Nissan, witnessed the crash.

‘The Ferrari was hooning down the other side of the road,’ he told Channel Nine.

‘I looked in my rearview mirror just as the impact happened. It’s just good everybody was able to walk away from that considering the amount of damage ‘

Ferrari Club Australia secretary Geoff Petherbridge told Seven News that the car costs around  $600,000.

He said because that make of Ferrari has a rear engine and the major damage is to the front of the vehicle, it could possibly be fixed but there’s one catch.

‘There’s not going to be spare parts for that particular model anywhere,’ he said.

Victoria Police said all drivers were spoken to at the scene and no one suffered serious injuries.

No charges have been laid.

‘Police wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the driving of any of the vehicles involved prior to the collision or who may have dashcam or other video footage of the incident,’ a police spokesperson said.
