A five-year-old boy was badly injured after ‘flying out’ of a water slide at a Georgia amusement park, falling 20-feet to the ground. 

The child was riding in a double tube at the Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park, SOAKya, on Tuesday, when he was injured. 

Ginger Bence witnessed the little boy fall from the slide. she said the child was unconscious for minutes before staff arrived.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever forget it,’ Bence said to WJCL. ‘I thought ‘Is he alive?”

The child fell off the 15 to 20 foot waterslide, according to Catoosa County Fire Department.

One park visitor told WZTV that she saw the boy ‘fly out’ of the green and yellow water slide. 

Bence, said she heard several employees blow whistles, which she assumed was part of a safety protocol when someone is hurt, according to the news outlet. 

She said the boy was ‘in so much pain’ and she is just hoping he is doing okay.  

He was treated at the scene and taken to the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee by Puckett EMS.

There has been no update on the condition and extent of injuries to the child, although he was conscious while receiving emergency medical treatment.

The Georgia Insurance and Fire Safety Division are investigating the incident.

‘We have an inspector on the scene there today, but it is too early in our investigation to release any preliminary findings,’ an agency spokesperson said Thursday. 

‘We will most likely release a final report in the next few days.’
