A man is fighting for his life after an early morning collision between a truck and a train.
Emergency services on Monday rushed to South Geelong just after 6.30am following reports a Melbourne-bound V/Line collided with a truck near Barwon Terrace.
‘The driver of the truck received life-threatening injuries and is expected to be airlifted to hospital,’ a Victorian police spokesperson said.
The train driver was uninjured and it is understood the train was not carrying passengers at the time.

The collision has disrupted morning traffic, with the Barwon Terrace level crossing closed, and commuters gathered on either side.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Transport told the Geelong Advertiser coaches would be replacing trains between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds stations due to the accident.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and a police investigation is ongoing.
