Goldman Sachs’ CEO has released a statement addressing the death of one of the firm’s employees hours after the body of the 27-year-old senior analyst was pulled from a Brooklyn creek.

David Solomon spoke out about the death of John Castic on Tuesday, describing him as ‘dedicated’ and ‘driven’ and remarking that he was ‘shocked’ by his sudden passing.

A senior analyst with the firm for a year, Castic disappeared Sunday when he was last seen at roughly 3am outside a Zeds Deas concert he’d attended at the Brooklyn Mirage Night Club venue in Bushwick, police told DailyMail.com.

His roommates became worried after he failed to return to their Lower Manhattan apartment the next day, leading to a frantic search across the city. Less than a day later, Castic’s body was discovered floating in a creek about a half mile from Mirage – the second body found in the same body of water in just over a month.

Several hours after Castic’s body was found, the analyst’s old boss issued a statement to pay his respects.

Police were reportedly first on the scene at around 11:30am, and deployed a small raft to retrieve the body just before 1pm.

Officers at that point pulled the Goldman worker’s body out of the water, and emergency medical personnel immediately declared him dead, the department said.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, a rep for the city’s police force further described the retrieval operation – the second involving a corpse belonging to a person who had recently attended the Mirage in a matter of weeks.
