Her dad Brad Reid said it was a ‘miracle’ his daughter had survived.

‘After the longest week of life-saving surgeries she has miraculously defied the odds and is still with us,’ he said.

‘She has the biggest fight ahead of her but is one of the strongest people I know and is ready for this fight! T-Bomb will come out of this stronger than ever!’

Ms Reid’s aunt Kristin Small has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to support the family as she recovers. So far they have raised more than $42,000.

Ms Small said her niece  ‘truly is the definition of a survivor’.

‘Tominey’s personality radiates warmth and resilience even during these trying times. Tom has a range of very serious injuries however she is responding well,’ Ms Small wrote.

‘This appeal aims to not only assist with her ongoing medical/rehabilitation expenses but also provide support for her mortgage and other financial responsibilities.’
