Harrods customer tells how young daughter walked through ‘pool of blood’ after man in his 20s was stabbed in department store ‘by thugs trying to steal luxury watch’
A Harrods customer shopping at the time of a stabbing in the luxury department store on Saturday night has told how his young daughter walked through a ‘pool of blood’ as they fled the store.
A man in his 20s was stabbed at after a fight broke out, reportedly by thugs trying to steal his Louis Vuitton watch.
The Metropolitan Police and several 999 crews were called to the scene shortly after 7.33pm, but the assailant is thought to have fled and no arrests were made at the store.
Witnesses described blood all over the floor after the incident, which occurred with young children in the vicinity.

The Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at 19:33hrs on Saturday, 28 January, to a fight inside the Harrods store in Brompton Road, SW1’
Ronnie Chopra, 49, told MailOnline he was in the room next door in Harrods when the attack occurred, browsing wallets with his 13-year-old daughter, who wanted to buy him a birthday present.
Another customer informed him someone had been ‘attacked with a knife’ and suffered a ‘slashed wrist’ as someone attempted to ‘steal a watch’.
Mr Chopra said: ‘Obviously my 13-year-old Anoushka was quite shaken and we made a swift exit.
‘Whilst we were leaving we saw the blood on the floor and my daughter unknowingly walked through the blood.’
He added: ‘It’s shocking that this can occur inside a store! And Harrods no less which is probably the most well known department store in the world.’
Mr Chopra said knife crime in the capital is ‘going from bad to worse.’
On Sunday police said there have still been no arrests and an investigation is underway.

A spokesperson said on Saturday night: ‘Police were called at 19:33hrs on Saturday, 28 January, to a fight inside the Harrods store in Brompton Road, SW1.
‘Officers attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, suffering stab/slash injuries. He has been taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.
‘Detectives from the Met’s Central West CID are investigating. Cordons are in place at the location.
‘There has been no arrest at this early stage. Enquiries continue.’
A spokeswoman for Harrods said: ‘We are unable to comment on an incident whilst there is an ongoing police investigation.’
