Jorgie Porter’s dog came to her rescue amid a terrifying armed robbery.

The Hollyoaks actress, 36, was asleep in her Cheshire mansion with her businessman fiancé Ollie Piotrowski and their son Forest, 11 when their Dobermann Stella made a noise to raise the alarm.

Jorgie and her fiancé leapt out of bed to check their security cameras and were shocked to discover a pair of intruders, who fled once they heard the dog’s bark.

Speaking on the Invite Only podcast, she explained: ‘Our dog Stella saved us. She scared them away, so they didn’t get in.

‘But it was the scariest thing because we were all in [the house]. And you can see from the CCTV footage that they had things… we don’t know what they were holding.

‘I was asleep, but Ollie heard Stella barking in a different way. So he went to check on her, and when he looked outside… the lights [on the system] were off.

Jorgie – who is known to soap fans as Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 serial – added that her fiancé called the police and soon there was a ‘gang’ of family and friends all round her house.

She said: ‘He phoned the police and they then turned up. Yeah, it was horrible. [Afterwards] we had all these friends and relatives round.

‘We had like a gang in the house, camping together.

‘You just don’t know what they’re going to do, or if they’re going to come back, or what.’

The actress even felt as if she had to beg the police to stay with them for a bit and they agreed.

She added: ‘I even said to the police, “Please can you just look after us for a bit?” And they said, “Yes, we totally can”‘.

Following the events of the scary night, Jorgie is even considering getting a second canine companion to look out for her just as Stella did.

She added: ‘We were even looking to get another dog because we thought, you know, that was so brilliant, what Stella did.

‘We joke that we’ve given her a wage and a security badge!’

Just days ago, Jorgie and Ollie, who have dated since 2020, shared throwback snaps from their luxury St Lucia getaway with their son.

She also explained that the heartbreak of suffering miscarriages in the past made them ‘stronger’ as a couple and Oliver emphasised the importance of being open about their raw emotions.

The couple welcomed Forrest in December 2022 after tragically miscarrying quadruplets at 14 weeks in August 2021.

The Hollyoaks actress then had a second miscarriage six weeks into another pregnancy in February 2022 – on the day of the couple’s engagement party.

In a joint interview, the couple spoke to Cheshire Life about how they have coped with their baby losses.

Jorgie explained that their heartbreak made them ‘stronger’ as a couple and Oliver emphasised the importance of being open about their raw emotions.

She said: ‘We felt it was important to talk to each other and try and be open and honest about how we felt. We went through the toughest times and it made us stronger. Having Ollie there by my side gave me the most support.

Oliver added: ‘I think it’s really important to just take each day as it comes, to take each emotion as it hits, whether it’s anger or sadness.

‘As a man, I think you can feel helpless. I wanted to protect Jorgie and take away her pain but in reality all you can do is be there for each other.’
