Family of homeless man Jordan Neely who was put in a fatal chokehold by ex-marine Daniel Penny make plans to file wrongful-death lawsuit
The family of Jordan Neely, the homeless Michael Jackson impersonator who was killed after being placed in a chokehold by Daniel Penny, declared their intention to file a wrongful death suit against Marine veteran.
Neely’s aunt, Carolyn, announced the intention in a letter that was sent from her attorneys, the Manhattan-based Mills & Edwards, to Penny’s lawyer.
‘Please be advised that this office has been retained . . . to pursue a claim for personal injuries and wrongful death. . . . Your action resulted in the death of Jordan Neely,’ the letter reads in part reports the New York Post.
The May 1 confrontation was caught on video, showing Penny restraining Neely with the help of two other passengers, after Neely reportedly screamed threats and menaced people on the train.
