Linda Reynolds sues Brittany Higgins for defamation over an Instagram story and a tweet – after the ex-staffer claimed she was allegedly raped in her boss’s office
Senator Linda Reynolds is suing Brittany Higgins for defamation over two social media posts which accused her of harassment.
Ms Reynolds is suing Ms Higgins for aggravated damages over an Instagram story on July 4 and a Twitter post on July 20, both of which she claims were defamatory to her.
The former defence minister has demanded two injunctions, preventing Ms Higgins from publishing defamatory material about her and stopping her from further breaches.
In early July, Ms Higgins revealed she had received a concerns notice from her old boss to say she intended to file a defamation suit – ‘I’m considering my legal options,’ the former staffer added.
Ms Reynolds also has a defamation case against Ms Higgins finance David Sharaz over two tweets posted last year in the West Australian Supreme Court.
