The daughter of journalist Lisa Wilkinson and former Wallaby Peter FitzSimons spent her teenage years working at Domino’s before following in the footsteps of her successful parents and working in media.

While the career of Billi FitzSimons, 25, has only skyrocketed since her time at the pizza restaurant, her father revealed she, like many other teens her age, did her time working at the fast-food joint for four years.

In response to a tweet, Mr FitzSimons, an author and journalist with The Sydney Morning Herald, revealed his daughter’s first job.

‘Billi had a job after school taking orders at Dominos Pizza for about four years from 14 or so, so she took pocket money as a bonus!’ he said.

Both of her parents had already established successful careers during her time at Domino’s.

Mr FitzSimons had written about a dozen books and starred for the Wallabies in seven tests by the time his young daughter was taking up her first job.

He joined The Sydney Morning Herald full-time in 1989 and has gone on to write 25 best-sellers.

Wilkinson had meanwhile been co-hosting The Today Show since 2007, a role she held until 2017 when she quit over a reported gender pay gap dispute.

Wilkinson, 61, was earning $780,000 a year on a two-year contract when she left the network, according to The Australian.

Meanwhile, Karl Stefanovic’s three- to five-year contract was said to be worth between $2million and $3million annually, depending on the show’s performance.

Despite reports Wilkinson demanded equal pay with co-host Stefanovic, she claims in her book she was just asking for a ‘slightly fairer share of the spoils’ given the Today Show’s profitability.

Wilkinson then signed with Ten’s The Project for a staggering $1.7 million a year in 2018, before inking another lucrative multi-year contract with the network in 2020.

After five years, Wilkinson announced she’d be leaving the current affairs program in November last year.

However, she remains with Ten on other projects, with years remaining on an ongoing multi-year contract that was revealed last year.

She and her husband, who share three children together, live in a multi-million dollar home in Cremorne with views overlooking Sydney Harbour, having previously owned a five-bedroom house in Mosman.

Wilkinson also owns a 1970s single-bedroom apartment in Cremorne that overlooks Sydney Harbour with views of both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

The property is rented out for $770 a week. The home once belonged to her late mother, Beryl, who reportedly bought it for $388,000 in 1996.

After her mother died in 2018, Wilkinson’s brothers Kyle and Brett sold her their share of the property for $275,000 each.

Along with her luxurious property portfolio, Wilkinson also drives a $124,000 Audi A7 Sportback and is an ambassador for the marque.

She has also been pictured driving an Audi A3 convertible, worth about $53,000.

Ms FitzSimons, meanwhile, has followed in her parents’ journalistic footsteps, having worked as a senior news writer at Mammamia.

She then scored the role of editor of The Daily Aus at the age of 24.

While many questioned if she was the right fit for the job given her young age, her father was quick to shoot down the criticism.

‘Her mother was made editor of Dolly at the age of 21, and went well. In Billi’s case she is Editor of a platform that is going after a mob her age, in their 20s, and getting them in droves,’ he tweeted last March.
