London West End’s KitKat Club cancels cabaret night after man climbs building and ‘threatens to jump off’ – sparking large emergency response blocking access to venue

The West End’s KitKat club has had to cancel a cabaret night after a man climbed onto the roof of a building, forcing the road outside to be closed.

Emergency services are attending the scene, where police have said negotiators are speaking to the man.

A Met Police spokesman said: ‘Police were called to Northumberland Avenue, WC2, at 14.45hrs on Tuesday, 1 August to reports of a concern for safety.

‘Officers attended. A man has climbed up to the top of a building. 

‘A police negotiator is on scene and a number of road closures have been put in place.’
