Man, 30, arrested on suspicion of murder after woman dies in scrubland on outskirts of city centre

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was dead in woodland on the outskirts of a city centre.
Police were called to Freeth Street, in Ladywood, Birmingham, after the woman was discovered in a wooded area at around 8.45pm last night.
Despite the efforts of paramedics who rushed to the scene, nothing could be done to save her and she died from her injuries.
West Midlands Police said a man arrested on suspicion of her murder remains in custody and is being quizzed by detectives today.
