A man in his 30s has died after a Ferrari smashed into a tree in a horror crash.

The £250,000 supercar veered off the A630 in Armthorpe, near Doncaster at 8.50am yesterday and collided with a tree.

South Yorkshire Police raced to the scene after being called by a member of the public. 

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene near the roundabout between Herald Road and Thorne Road but has yet to be formally identified.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the horror crash as they begin their investigation.

Pictures show the extent of the damage to the expensive supercar as the front wheels have been mangled and the doors have collapsed. 

The roof appears to have collapsed as the car was flipped upside-down and the boot has been ripped off, exposing the twin-turbo V8 engines.

The £250,000 Ferrari was winched from the scene during the day yesterday. 

In a statement on Sunday, a spokesman said: ‘Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who was driving in the area at the time and has dash cam footage which captured the vehicle before the collision to come forward to see if you can assist with the enquiries.

The force said people who have information should contact them online or by calling 101.
