This is the moment a man pushed a cart with his 18-year-old daughter’s corpse inside after he allegedly strangled her and paid a homeless man $2 to set her on fire on a street in southeastern Brazil.

Wellington da Silva, 39, was arrested Wednesday and confessed to murdering Raysa da Silva, at his home in São Paulo on Sunday, the São Paulo Civil Police said.

A surveillance camera mounted outside his apartment showed him struggling with the cart and pushing it inside the elevator.

Wellington Da Silva confessed that he and his daughter were drinking and began arguing over the separation, which took place several months ago, State Department of Homicide and Personal Protection chief Ivalda Aleixo told Brazilian news outlet G1.

At one point, he became upset because his daughter insisted her support for her mother and he allegedly strangled her.

Wellington Da Silva said that he fell asleep with Raysa da Silva’s corpse in the apartment and removed her body Monday evening, cops say.

He allegedly approached a homeless man and instructed him to buy fuel from a nearby gas station and set her body on fire.

‘He stated that he paid [$2] to set a fire,’ Aleixo said. ‘And for that purpose, one liter of ethanol was used.’

Raysa da Silva’s mother reported her missing with a local police station Monday. Pedestrians alerted police Tuesday morning after discovering the teenager’s charred body in a ditch.

Authorities launched a manhunt for the homeless man and have been canvassing area security cameras to corroborate Wellington da Silva’s claims.

Wellington da Silva is facing feminicide, destruction and concealment of a body charges.

He was scheduled to appear before a judge Wednesday afternoon as authorities will seek to place him in pretrial detention.

‘The mother was desperate and feared that if he was not located and arrested he could try to kill her other minor son or even her,’ Ivalda said. ‘His objective was to harm his ex-wife with the death of her daughter. Such cruelty, coldness and evil is not possible in a man, in a father. And why? Because he was rejected by a woman.’
