Man, 51, under guard in hospital charged with murder of professional bodybuilder who was found dead next to her 10-year-old daughter

A man has been charged with murder following a stabbing incident in Melbourne‘s south-east that left a woman dead.

Sven Lindemann, 51, is set to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday following the death of 39-year-old Monique Lezsak. 

The Endeavour Hills man was is in hospital under police guard with ‘life threatening’ upper body injuries.

He is understood to be the slain woman’s new boyfriend.

Police questioned Lindemann after being called to a home at Kassan Gardens following reports of an altercation around 7.30am on Tuesday morning.

Ms Lezsak was pronounced dead at the scene and her 10-year-old daughter was hospitalised with serious injuries.

Her shattered former partner Jye Carter described her to reporters as a ‘beautiful person’ and a devoted mother to their son and daughter. 

‘[She was] the most amazing mother and kindest-hearted human on the planet,’ friend Jacqueline Schwarcz told The Age on Wednesday.

Ms Lezsak’s 10-year-old daughter is in a stable condition in hospital as she recovers from minor injuries, and has been hailed as a hero after she was cut on the arm trying to save her mother.

Lindemann was also charged with recklessly causing injury.
