The heartbroken girlfriend of a young police officer who suddenly died in his sleep is searching for answers as the cause of his death remains a mystery.
Harry Baker, 29, and his partner Kate Osmond, had only just purchased a home together on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
But on Thursday, Ms Osmand woke up to find Mr Baker unresponsive.
The tragedy has sent shock waves through the Victorian Police Force, with Ms Osmand also an officer and Mr Baker recently landed his dream job in an elite police unit.
The couple met when they were placed in the same unit while undergoing police training and their relationship quickly blossomed.

The cop couple had only just purchased a home together on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula
They soon became ‘inseparable’ and eventually purchased their ‘forever home’ as well as a Kelpie dog called Marley.
The two also dreamed of starting a family.
Ms Osmond told the Herald Sun that her late partner would never ‘want to waste a single day we had off together, he always wanted to go on adventures’.
‘He would drive me crazy sometimes with his carefree attitude … No one has ever made me feel more loved than he did,’ she said.
A GoFundMe set up for Ms Osmond to help her ‘pick up the broken pieces’ has raised over $22,000 in just two days.
‘Harry was very much loved and adored by those whose lives he touched, both personally and professionally,’ the fundraiser reads.
‘The sad and devastating loss to Kate and Harry’s family and his family in blue has sent shockwaves and a flurry of emotions and unanswered questions.’

Those who knew Mr Baker say he was a ‘larger-than-life’ figure, who served his community with pride and a sense of humour.
‘Harry was not just a funny man though. He was intelligent and a lover of all things extra-terrestrial with a keen admiration for philosophers and physicists such as Stephen Hawking, and was free-spirited in a sense,’ the fundraiser reads.
‘As a police officer of four years, Harry was in pursuit of large ambitions to join an elite unit within Victoria Police, something which he was destined to do.
‘Unfortunately, this dream, which he came close to achieving, is no longer a reality.’
