The glamorous ex-fiancée of Prince Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has launched a reality TV career on the eve of the King’s coronation.

Harvard-educated architect Dara Huang, 40, made her TV debut on Channel 4’s The Big Interiors Battle last week.

Dara is a judge on the show with host AJ Odudu, as eight hopefuls battle it out to win a mortgage-free apartment in a search for the next big interior designer.

Her son Christopher, known as Wolfie, seven, who she shares with the property developer and now husband of Princess Beatrice, was pictured watching his mother on screen.

It comes ahead of King Charles III’s coronation on May 6, with members of the royal family including Princess Beatrice set to celebrate the historic occasion.

Dara began dating Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2015 and got engaged to him in 2017.

She previously told how it was ‘love at first sight’ with Edo, telling Lifestyle Asia : ‘He was the father of my child, and he left as quickly as he came, so I would say unfortunately it’s not an instinct you can trust!’

The pair’s social media accounts reflected a glamorous life of international travel until their son was born in 2016.

It was reported that Edo and Dara continued to live together for weeks after he began a relationship with the Queen’s granddaughter at the October 12 nuptials.

A close family friend of Edo’s stated that the couple had split six months before.

However according to Dara’s mother Lily, her daughter left Edo’s flat and was staying with a close friend, sleeping on the sofa, while looking for an apartment.

Despite the couple breaking off their engagement in 2018, they have remained on good terms and continue to co-parent Wolfie.

When news broke of his upcoming nuptials to Princess Beatrice, Dara told MailOnline: ‘I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.’

In January 2020, a friend of the former couple told the Mail On Sunday they remain close, and that Dara still cuts Edo’s hair and occasionally buys him clothes.

Beatrice has reportedly welcomed Dara into her life, adopting a stepmother role to Wolfie.

Dara was born in the US in 1983, the daughter of a businesswoman and a retired NASA scientist who immigrated from Taiwan.

Last year, she spoke about being an immigrant in an Instagram post as she appealed for both Ukraianian and Russians to be let into the country without a visa.

Posting on Instagram, she wrote: ‘What does an immigrant look like?

‘My mother was an immigrant of war; leaving everything she had to flee to Taiwan.

‘My father, was the only child of 7 who could afford to be educated. He immigrated to the USA on a full scholarship.

‘After, he served the US government for 40 years at NASA (once part of the military) and pledged his allegiance to defend his new country.’

‘I am an immigrant of the United Kingdom. The values of working hard, appreciating opportunity, not taking things for granted and fighting for a better life were the values that I was taught led by the two best examples. We all received dual citizenship.’

She continued: ‘Immigration can be a wonderful thing; a contribution to society, a creation of new prosperity and the beginning of hope. Let’s open our hearts and help those around us, at this time.’

She went on to urge her followers to allow Ukrainian immigrants to enter the country without a visa, saying: ‘It would be wonderful to have one for Russians as well.’

She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and transferred to the Ivy League school for her Masters in Architecture.

During her high-flying career she has worked on a number of high-profile projects including the London 2012 Olympic Aquatics Centre and and the Bee’ah Headquarters in Sharjah, UAE.

According to her LinkedIn page, she has won several awards and honours for her work including Property Week’s 40 under 40, BBC China’s 100 Women, three RIBA competition recognition, Property Week’s Resi-trailBlazer, Prestige 40 under 40, and Hong Kong Most Valuable Service award.
