A cute video has shown a baby in a glass tube in order for the infant to be kept still for X-rays, with her mother in the background finding it amusing.

The hilarious video shows six-month-old Stevie, who is from St John’s in Newfoundland, Canada, with her arms up high in a glass tube, known as a Pigg-O-Stat, with her mother laughing in the background.

The infant suffers from Down’s Syndrome as well as a congenital heart defect.

The device, which according to manufactures has been around since the 1960s, aims to hold babies or small children still during X-rays.

The Pigg-O-Stat is an all-in-one pediatric immobilization device designed for positioning infants and young children for an appropriate x-ray without significant complications.

The manufacturer describes the Pigg-O Stat as an ‘all-in -one paediatric immobilisation device designed for positioning infants and young children for an appropriate x-ray without significant complications.’

They go onto say that the device safely secures the child and allows the x-ray technician to be brief and efficient while the child remains immobilised.

The manufacturer adds: ‘the Pigg-O Stat provides x-ray technicians the best opportunity to capture a great picture on the first attempt. With fewer retakes required, infants receive significantly less exposure to radiation.’
