Little known perk for air travellers revealed after man discovered his suitcase had been destroyed on a regional flight
- Traveller’s bag was busted after flight
- Suitcase even had a ‘missing wheel’
- Rex Airlines gave him new luggage
- Youssef Tabbiche bragged about it
A traveller has bragged about getting a new suitcase after he discovered his checked-in bag had been badly damaged during a regional flight.
Youssef ‘Youi’ Tabbiche took to social media on Wednesday when he discovered his small Royal Bag suitcase cracked and with a wheel missing after taking a flight with Rex Airlines.
The post was captioned: ‘You can make a complaint to the airline and they will compensate you for the suitcase. Keep evidence for they will ask you for it.’
Footage of the video showed him at an airport baggage carousel reacting as he surveyed the broken hard plastic of his suitcase.
‘Rex what the f*** did you do to my suitcase? [It’s even] missing a wheel,’ he said as he checked out the damage.
He took his bag over to an airline office while a second video revealed a worker obscured by a halo emoji taking a photo of the damage.

The employee was then filmed opening up a box before giving Mr Tabbiche a brand new grey Wanderlite suitcase to replace the busted one.
The TikTokker said the process took him 10 minutes to sort out and thanked the airline.
‘Let’s go boys, out with the old and in with the new,’ he said in the vision, as his mates congratulated him on the bag swap.
‘You got yourself a new bag Youi … Wanderlite versus the old Royal Bag baby,’ a friend was heard saying off camera.
Mr Tabbiche gave advice over his ‘lesson learned’ for those who have worn out luggage they want to get rid of.
‘Take them on a flight and insurance will cover it and you get yourself a brand new bag for free,’ he said.
Online followers shared their own dodgy baggage carousel stories while others wondered why the suitcase took such a hit.
‘Someone didn’t want to be working that day,’ one commenter joked.
‘You should see what [one airline] did to my partners bag. His underwear was on the conveyor,’ a third claimed.
‘I don’t think Rex has anything to do with the bags, it’s the contractors at the airport who do many different planes and companies bags,’ one more said.

But other skeptical commenters said the Royal Bag was ‘probably already broken’.
Meanwhile, the Rex Airlines website said baggage lost or damaged due to its own negligence must be filed and reported within three days of the incident at the destination airport.
The luggage must also have the ‘thermal baggage tag’ still attached and sighted by Rex staff.
Rex Airlines was contacted by Daily Mail Australia for comment.
