Massive inferno breaks out at a car yard with more than 70 vehicles destroyed as firefighters tackle blaze

A massive fire has swept through a card yard in Perth, with dozens of cars abazle.

The inferno broke out at around 5.15pm on Friday at Pickes car yard near Bibra Lake, in the south of the city.

At least 70 cars have been destroyed so far and 10 fire crews are fighting the flames. 

Dramatic video from the scene show towering flames burning through three levels of cars stacked on top of each other in storage.

Smoke is spreading over nearby streets and people have been warned to stay inside where possible.

Drivers have also been asked to drive with their headlights on while driving throug the smog.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

The car yard had only just closed when the fire broke out and is home to hundreds of vehicles and boats.
